To provide users with additional data and to incentivize them to do heavy downloading at less congested hours, Bonus Bytes are also included in monthly data allowances. Unlike anytime data which has no limitations on its time of use, the additional Bonus Bytes data can be used from 2am-8am local time.
Maximizing Your Bonus Bytes
Off-peak hours exist for a reason, and it should not be expected for a user to change their daily routine to make large downloads late in the night.
It’s recommended that users take advantage of scheduling downloaders for files/downloads that are not instantly needed. Instead of your web browser instantly downloading your request (usually the default action), you are able to specify exactly when you would like the download to happen. By setting the download between 2am and 8am local time you are able to take advantage of Bonus Bytes and save your anytime data.
Scheduling downloads for off peak hours is extremely simple and only requires the use of a web browser. Search for a download scheduler add-on/extension to install that will give you the ability to schedule file downloads at a later point. For example, on Mozilla Firefox theirs an add-on called Download Scheduler that lets you set up downloads in a calendar style format.
